Great Commission 5K & Fun Walk (GC5K)
Once each year, The Alliance hosts Great Commission Day, where we celebrate Christ’s instruction in Matthew 28:19-20,
“…Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Here at Daybreak, we celebrate by hosting our annual Great Commission 5K & Fun Walk! This year, we’ll be holding our 11th annual race on Sunday May 3, 2026 at our new location at Winding Hill Park South again this year!
We are committed to donating all registration fees, additional contributions, and extra t-shirt purchases from the GC5K directly to the Great Commission Fund of The Alliance, which supports over 700 international workers (IWs) serving among 150 people groups in over 140 cities around the world!
PICKLE DRIVE!
Help us this year by bringing jars of dill pickle spears to the GC5K Info Tables between Sunday, April 19 and Sunday, April 26!
In 2025, we were able to donate almost $70,000!
Because of that, here are just a FEW of the ways we were able to shine the light of Jesus…
We were able to respond to the devastation of Hurricane Melissa in Cuba by providing immediate emergency food relief and assisting families with essential supplies & mattresses, and support ongoing recovery with building materials and food distributions
Roughly 2,500 families affected by terrorism in Burkina Faso have received food and other desperately needed aid, including temporary shelters for those displaced from the ongoing violence
We provided 23 tons of food, feeding over 5,700 Ukrainians per month and resulting in hundreds of new believer baptisms

Additionally, $7,000 of the money raised went directly to our partners in Cuba, who using their personal property & home to build a church and retreat center.

Volunteer
If you don’t care for running, or simply aren’t able to, you can still participate in Jesus’ Great Commission by running a water station, helping with set up or tear down, or donating food for our family picnic!

Romans 10: 14-55 says:
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?
We believe that as we give, we fulfill the Great Commission by enabling – SENDING – those who have been called to go! What an amazing privilege!
That belief is why we commit 100% of all event registration fees to the Great Commission Fund of the Alliance.
