2018 Short Term Trips

This summer, we’re sending short-term teams to Ecuador and Cambodia. Even if you’re not going, you can be part of our teams by partnering with someone going and supporting them through prayer and through financial giving.

Get all the info on the teams below and sign up to receive prayer requests by emailing kelly.argot@daybreakweb.com.

To give financially to one of the trip members, visit TripGiving.db.church or mail a check made out to "Daybreak Church" to us at 321 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 (write the person you're supporting in the memo).

The team will travel to Ecuador for 10 days in June to run Vacation Bible Schools in the communities they visit to build relationships and tell community members about the love of Jesus. They will also continue to build relationships with our international workers and help them serve the students at the Ninawachi Missions school.

  • Cheryl Fell

Cheryl is one of the leaders on this year's trip to Ecuador – her fifth time returning with Daybreak! Cheryl loves the children and culture of Ecuador, as well as our international workers and their ministry. She truly has a passion to participate in God’s work around the globe and is looking forward to sharing that with her team

  • Jason Fickes

Jason is one of our leaders for the Ecuador trip this year! Daybreak’s Director of Connecting Ministries, Jason has been a part of many short-term trips over the years. He’s looking forward to returning to Ecuador to continue to partner with our international workers there. A great part about every trip is how God always has something new and special to encourage and challenge him on, and this year will be no exception.

  • Kristen Snyder

This will be Kristen’s first missions trip. Kristen’s life passion is to serve others and change the world, and she is excited to do that while spreading the word of Jesus at the same time! Currently in her final year at HACC, she is interning at the Shalom House, a women and children’s shelter in Harrisburg, and working at Giant. Her prayer for this trip is that she may have a lasting impact on at least one person and for one person to have a lasting impact on her as well. She is expecting this trip to bring her closer to God than ever before.

  • Kyle Silvis

This trip will be Kyle’s second consecutive trip to Ecuador with Daybreak! Kyle is looking forward to seeing some of the people he met last year and experiencing how God can change him. He works at Best Buy and enjoys filling his free time with photography, sports, and music. This year, Kyle is hoping to grow his relationship with Christ and learn what God wants him to do next.

  • Laura Woltz

This year will be Laura’s sixth year serving in Ecuador with Daybreak! Over the past years, Laura has developed a true heart for the people of Ecuador and is looking forward to visiting her friends. A member of our Children’s and Global Ministry teams, Laura is hoping God will teach her something new and deepen her relationship with Him through her service.

  • Lorelei Weaver

While Lorelei has been on several international trips with Daybreak, this will be her first time travelling to Ecuador! Lorelei enjoys playing sports and the piano, crafting, and gardening. She is expecting to brush up on her Spanish while in Ecuador. She is excited to serve those around her as she learns how to more fully rely on God for courage in dealing with situations outside of her comfort zone.

  • Sawyer Fell

Sawyer will be returning to Ecuador this year for the second time! Currently in 9th grade, Sawyer is gifted in the arts – particularly drawing and acting! He enjoys video games, cooking, and relating to other people. During last year’s trip, Sawyer formed relationships that he’s excited to continue investing in this year. He’s also looking forward to growing with God through the experience once again!

  • Shawn Woltz

Shawn will be returning to Ecuador with Daybreak this year for the sixth time! In addition to reconnecting with his friends in Ecuador, Shawn is also looking forward to finding refreshment in serving and refocusing his priorities in life. Shawn enjoys spending time outdoors in his free time and serves at Daybreak on Sunday mornings as part of our Tech team.

In late July to early August, the team will serve as English teachers at a Language Exchange Camp in Cambodia. They will have the chance to bond with students by learning some of the Khmer language with the goal of fostering relationships and conversations and opening doors to be able to share the love of Christ with the students.

  • Carl Hollander

After feeling called to go for some time, Carl is joining his first trip to Cambodia! He is excited to see how God can continue to make him more like Jesus as he uses his gifts beyond the local community. Carl enjoys meeting new people and engaging with them in personal relationships. He currently serves as an Elder, in Worship Arts, and as a Small Group leader at Daybreak. During this trip, Carl expects to learn a new perspective on the world and form deeper relationships with his teammates.

  • Diane Langner

This trip to Cambodia will be Diane’s first international trip. Although a bit nervous, Diane says that she has never felt more pushed and more confident that this is where God needs her. Applying for this trip has been evidence of how He is teaching her to trust and listen more to Him. Diane is involved in several ministries at Daybreak and is looking forward to being involved globally. She is expecting to learn that she is capable because God is truly with her always.

  • Karen Schroder

Karen has been on several missions trips in the past, but this will be her first to Cambodia! She works at home as a mom of three kids and enjoys volleyball, singing, reading and playing games in her spare time. She is looking forward to experiencing God in a new way, as well as learning how best to pray for our international workers. She is eager to leave her comfort zone and see how God will grow her during this stage of her life while she shows God’s love around the world.

  • Kelly Argot

Kelly is our Director of Global Ministries at Daybreak and is one of our leaders for this year’s trip to Cambodia. She has been on many trips over the years and knows that God uses them to mold and shape her into the person He created her to be. This year, Kelly is looking forward to building relationships with Jesus, her team, and our international workers as well as seeing and experiencing the life-change that happens when we surrender to Jesus. Along with leading short-term teams, another passion of Kelly’s is spending time with her family and friends.

  • Randy Bidinger

This year’s trip to Cambodia will be Randy’s first trip! He currently serves at Daybreak in the Nursery and as a Greeter and is looking forward to gaining a deeper sense of spiritual needs elsewhere in the world. In his spare time, Randy is involved with the graphic arts and enjoys music and riding his motorcycle. His desire is to partner with God, through obedience, in affecting those around him and to experience a lifestyle that he is far removed from.

  • Scott Weaver

Scott is one of our leaders to Cambodia this year. Growing up, Scott’s parents were international workers in the Philippines and God has placed a passion for missions in his heart as well! He has traveled all over the world serving Jesus and has led many trips with Daybreak. Scott loves people and loves being able to lead them on these trips as they discover new cultures and learn just how big our God is!
