  • Alan Starner (2nd Term September 2022 through August 2025)

Alan was born and raised in Mechanicsburg and began attending Daybreak Easter of 2003.

It was that day that he discovered a life-changing journey with Jesus and asked him to be

his Lord and Savior! His first impressions were that it was an environment he felt

comfortable in. He recalls always being greeted warmly by people. He then heard

music that resonated with him. That, combined with messages that were relevant,

Bible-focused, and left him with “application steps,” gave him a home where he knew he

could grow and experience God’s goodness for his life, alongside others on the journey.

His favorite thing about Daybreak is that we’re a family on a mission who is willing to listen

for God’s direction and make decisions to further His Kingdom. Alan has served in various

ministry roles at Daybreak over the years, including worship leader, Home Group leader,

Short-Term Trip member, and he has previously served as an elder on our leadership team.

Together, Dean and Kelly have 3 kids, Alysha, Aaron, and Alanna. Dean loves the outdoors

Jan and her husband, Jeff, were invited by a friend to attend Daybreak in the fall of 2006. They appreciated the warm, friendly welcome that didn’t feel overbearing. Jan also love’s Daybreak’s “come as you are, but don’t stay that way” approach, and that there are so many different offerings for people at different points along their journey. Other highlights for Jan are Daybreak’s “scrappiness,” that the leadership has not been afraid to learn from past mistakes and listen closely to God’s leading, the generosity of Daybreak members, the worship team/music, and so much more! Jan began serving as a greeter, has served in and led the financial ministry as well as taught a premarital financial course, served as a small group leader, and on a Daybreak short-term trip to Ecuador.
