We’re so glad you have decided to engage in this year’s Lenten Journey, A Different Kind of Fast. Our lives are often so cluttered with thoughts, habits, social media, news, drivenness, and our many daily commitments. Some of the clutter in our lives can be easily seen in our outer lives. Other types of clutter are less visible.
Fasting, the act of letting go and making space for God, provides the opportunity to clear away the clutter, the chaos in order to hear from God. Typically, we think of fasting as giving up food or drink, an act of letting go. And the purpose of this spiritual practice is to focus us inward on a deeper spiritual hunger. This Lent, we are going to explore what happens as we fast from something different - the habits, thought patterns and actions that keep us from hearing from God. Join us for a different kind of fast…one where God will clarify your true hunger and nourish your soul.
God bless your time of reflection and exploration over these next few weeks. May the journey be rich and offer you the opportunity to hear God’s voice above the noise and chaos and for you to discover your hunger for Him.
Mark your calendar for Friday, April 18th which will be our Good Friday Experience, a self directed and interactive time to reflect on Jesus ultimate expression of His love for us, His death on the cross. We hope you’ll come (and bring someone with you).
